Village cottage/house/apartment for 2 people to rent in May

My wife and I are planning to visit Alsace for a week in May and would like to rent a property in a village or small town within easy walking distance of a shop or shops and ideally a bar, restaurant or cafe. Most properties we have found on the web are in the countryside way from any facilities. Can anyone suggest a suitable town or village or even point us towards a particular cottage ?
