Myself and several friends are travelling to Almere on Saturday and Sunday 14th and 15th May 2005 to support our sons who are playing in a football tournament in Almere. The boys are Liverpool Schoolboys Representatives. We (the dads) are staying in Amsterdam centre and travelling by train to Almere. Could anyone give me advice about train travel from Central station to Almere. How long is the journey, how much for tickets, which station to get off in Almere, where to find the best beer and food!!
Hi, There is a direct connection between Adam and Almere centrum (stad) twice an hour. x.17 & x.47. Travel time 30 minutes, € 3,80 returrn ticket, lane 11b at Amsterdam central station. And I don't think that Almere is a great place to drink a beer. Try to leave Almere so quick as possible and go to Amsterdam. Steef

Hi, Earlier information about trains is OK. But after arrival at the trainstation (Almere Centrum) you need to go to this address: Sportpark de Marken Oosterdreef 8 1355 ES Almere haven tel: +31 (0)36 5310005 You can go there by bus. Take line 1 to Almere Haven (every 8 minutes or so). Price 2 euro's. Leave the bus at busstop "de Werven" then you have to walk for about 6 minutes to "sportpark de Marken" You can check walking directions at this site: www.map24.nl. Or if this is all too complicated: take a taxi! Have fun, Slipstream1
