How is Boumerdes, Algeria?

I'm planning to go to Boumerdes, Algeria for 2 weeks in the summer and I'm wondering if there are any extra precautions I should take, tourist traps, dangers and warnings all these things. I'm planning on going and spending time with my friends from Algeria, I'm traveling and staying alone in a villa but I will be with them during the day. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
