Hi, Me and my friend will be going on holiday with my family in august we are both 16. We want to go out clubbing and to the strip on are own a couple of nights of the holiday will we get served in any bars/clubs. Would we be able to get into Kiss/Kadoc? We are tempted to get some fake ID for the holiday would that be a good idea? Would we be ok drinking in restaurants and bars with my family without ID? Also is there any go karting anywhere in Albufeira as we would really like to do that too. Or even quad biking or something like that? What is the best beach in the Algarve for water sports?
You will most likely not be asked for ID. The young portugese go out drinking at that age too and every town have certain bars catering to that crowd and you will find plenty of people your own age if you go out at night.

I don´t know about the specific clubs as i am there for work when i stay in Albufeira and have little time for going out. But i hear that each club has different rules on who they will let in. And i think there is a place where you can go carting. I have not done it, but i am pretty sure i have seen a billboard sign for it.

The minimum age for buying drink here is 16, not 18. But a lot of music bars and clubs have a minimum age policy where you might be asked for ID. So far as tourists are concerned, it would have to be a passport or driving licence. All Portuguese adults have to carry an ID card so the question of fake ID hardly ever arises. I don't know specifically about Kiss or Kadoc policies and remember that Kadoc is 4 miles out of town. Some clubs have an entrance fee or minimum spend. This is specifically to deter those who will otherwise go into a club and spend all night there with one bottle of water. And don't go to Sultão Bar under any circumstances! It's one of those 500 Euros for a bottle of 'champagne' places.

I didn't mention the obvious. Paderne is a small village about 7 miles north of Albufeira. There are no buses in the evenings, so anyone going out clubbing is going to be spending a lot on taxis. A taxi from Paderne to the centre of Albufeira is going to cost about 12 Euros, 15 Euros after 10pm and at weekends. A taxi to Kiss or Kadoc will be a bit more.
