Is there any bus company from Montenegro to Tirana? How much it costs? From which cities of Montenegro to Tiran there are busses?

Hi, I'll be in Ohrid (coming from the US) this July and was thinking about travelling to Albania's coast from there for a few days. Upon some research, I'm considering Durres, Lezhe/Shengjin, the Himare area, Sarande, Vlore, and Ulcinj (in Montenegro, but it's largely Albanian-populated). I would only be able to get there via bus or train, so does anyone know if there are any routes from Ohrid to these places and how much it would cost? Also, how much would a hotel in any of these places cost roughly?

Of these places, I'm leaning towards Ulcinj since it seems so picturesque and like there'd be some good sightseeing. But, I'm far from decided so any knowledge you may have of the Albanian coast or know of any websites with info, it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, trying to book a bus trip from Patras (Greece) to Terana for 14th June 2013. We are coming from Zakynthos, so I assume Patras would be best chance of a bus to Albania, but any other ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi. I'm thinking of travelling to Albania in a couple of months time but have a dog with pet passport . I would be driving, entering from Macedonia and leaving to Greece. Can anybody help me and write are there any buses from Shkoder to Berat or Saranda? and at what time?

We are going to Prokletije (Albanian Alps), we would like to cross borderline between Montenegro and Albania in valley, where are villages Gusinje and Theth. Don´t you know, if is it possible? When it is possible, do we need some special permission? Thank you for answers.

Has anyone got any tips on the bet way to do this? Ideally by bus by the quickest time possible.

HI - some internet sources say that the festival takes place is Gjirokastra (spelling?) every five years and some every four years. The last one definitely took place in 2009 - so when is the next one - this year or the next? It is crazy, the discrepancy, but the more reliable sources like Wikipedia say 2014 - In any case I am eager to go - Thank you, Jean

Hi, Is it possible to hire a motorbike in Shkoder? Is a motorbike suitable for travelling on the dirt roads (eg. to Thethi)?

Has anyone driven this route recently? Is it possible in an ordinary car (i.e. not a four wheel drive) Any information gratefully received, including recommendations for accommodation in both towns.

I have two days that I would like to spend on or around Lake Skadar. Can anyone offer suggestions on a good way to spend that time? Would like to see any historic sites of note and am open to boating, kayaking, hiking, etc. and traveling by car from Shkodra.

I am planning a trip this summer and hope to include albania in my plans, mainly Tirana and Durres. A lot of traveller advice online appears to be from around 5years ago, I am wondering if anyone can give me up to date tips? Particularly on the best route to Tirana (we are travelling south from budapest to belgrade and then onwards), will there be reliable bus or taxi services if we just turn up or is it best to attempt to book with a tour group? I am also unsure if there are now any cross border bus services, from dubrovnik perhaps? Also, the trip will probably just be myself and one friend, we are both young girls, we have travelled around other european places alone before, but should we be more wary of this in albania than in other places? Any tips or recommendations would be really helpful to us so we can plan our trip to this beautiful new place :)

Wife and I are thinking about driving along the coast from somewhere in Albania or Greece to Venice, Italy. Any thoughts on that? Can we get a decent rental car that we could drop off in Italy? We aren't looking to rough it anymore - now that we're older - just looking for an adventure.

Please could someone give me advice about travelling from Tirana to Berat e.g. where to get a bus or a furgon, the frequency and the cost? I understand it takes about 3 hours - is that for both a bus or a furgon? We will be in Tirana during the public holidays 28/29 November 2012 - will buses run on these days or should we plan our trip to avoid these days? We want to go to Berat, stay in Berat one night and return the next day. Any info will be very welcome. Thanks.

Hi, Should be getting a bus from Naples, Italy to Bari sometime this December, just wondering how should I go about acquiring my ferry ticket to Albania? I would like to get the overnight ferry. Is it advised to book online (I have seen on DirectFerries a 'deck' single for £38) or can i just rock up to the ferry port and get one even cheaper? Any information regarding this ferry crossing would be appreciated. Ry

Hello, I have read quite a bit about ferries going from Italy to Albania. I was wondering if there are ferries operating in Albania - like from Durres to Sarande or Vlore? Or between Albania and Montenegro? Is the ferry service between Corfu and Vlore still in tact, and if so, what are the departure times for the summer season 2012 and costs? I have planned to travel from Montenegro to Albania in July. I will take a bus from Ulcinj to Skrodra and then Tirania. I heard that the bus leaves Ulcinj at around 6a.m. Is it true? Is there another bus? Then is it easy to get a bus at Skrodra to Tirana? What time will it be? And is it easy to find a place for money exchange near the bus station? I hope someone can give me some advice. Thanks!

Is it possible to make a daytrip from Saranda (Albania) to Corfu City? Or is the journey of the ship too long?

I will be trying to get from Romania to Albania in late August. Any suggestions on the best way? (without flying) Is it worth going through Belgrade first? It doesnt matter where in Romania (Im actually coming from Chisinau, Moldova so I can go through Romania anywhere)

Hello all Ok, so here's another vague question for you all. I was looking at the 'In Your Pocket'-Tirana edition and noticed a statue featured in a photo for an advert for an Albanian tourist company called 'Albanian Trip'. (Page 15 of the pdf version of the IYP book if you're curious) Anyway, the statue appears to show 2 partisans, one firing a machine gun and the second about to throw a grenade. Does anyone know where this statue is located? It looks a good one I'm hoping it's located in 1 of the more mainstream cities :) Thanks in advance everyone! DG

Hi, I need to get from Parga to Saranda next September, or vice versa, but I haven't found any bus timetables nor information. Is there any buses going or how it would be easiest? Or do we have to take ferry from Saranda to Corfu and from Corfu to Igoumenitsa and bus from there? I read that ferries from Parga to Corfu are not going that often, is that right? Sounds a bit difficult. Thank you in advance for any kind of tips!

Hello all There is plenty of information online about times that the ferries run from Corfu to Sarande, but very little about the timetables for travelling in the opposite direction. Specifically i'm hoping to get the boat from Sarande to Corfu on a Saturday in May of this year. The earlier in the day, the better. Can any of you guys help!? My thanks in advance DG

I'm hoping to visit BC from Shkodra via L Komani. What time (and from where) do furgons leave Shkodra, and what time do they return? And is it possible to drive from Shkodra to Rinas airport in 2 hours? Thanks!
