Items to Take to Alaska

by lonestarfan52 Online Now May 30, 2007 at 10:39 AM

I have never been to Alaska and would like to know what kind of things I would need to bring, wear etc. I will be there around June 20th to 28th.

Two years ago we were there at the exact same time! The weather was very warm and beautiful, but it can be cold, too. Take a water-repellent coat or jacket, and if necessary, layer the clothing under it for warmth. The coldest place was at Glacier Bay, even though it was sunny. Comfortable walking shoes, shorts, sunglasses, lots of memory in your camera, binoculars, gloves, all these things I would take. Anything else, you can buy there. It is truly a breathtaking place. Have a great time! David

We were there around the same time two years ago and loved everything about Alaska except for the mosquitos. Don't forget to bring mosquitos repellent.
