Anybody have a recommendation for a lunch place in Alamosa? We're open to all cuisines, but would prefer not to linger much over an hour for lunch. Thanks for any suggestions! Lisa
Mexican food: We haven't eaten in the restaurant itself, but were very impressed with the catered meal they served buffet-style at a function we attended: Calvillo, at 400 Main St., where US160 makes a sharp turn near the east side of town. Wide variety of cuisine: East/West Grill -- some Asian-style dishes; some more "American" -- this is a National chain, but we like the Alamosa place better than 2 other locations we've tried. Corner of 4th St. & US 160 -- about a block north of Calvillo. Chinese: We didn't expect a decent Chinese restaurant here, but were pleasantly surprised by the Hunan Chinese Restaurant. On Main Street, a few blocks west of Calvillo. If you're going to be spending some time in the Alamosa / Great Sand Dunes / San Luis Valley region, there are some other travel suggestions at this site: www.GreatSandDunes.info

We ate at Calvillo's on May 31, and thought it was very good.
