Hi, Is there a public bus from the airport or Christchurch city to Akaroa ? Thanks, Eddy

The only buses that go to Akaroa are the Akaroa Shuttle and French Connection. None of them departs at Chch airport but in the city. As departure stations might change from time to time with all the changes happening in Chch, you best contact them to find out. http://www.akaroabus.co.nz/ http://www.akaroashuttle.co.nz/ BUT: the Akaroa Shuttle has pick-up service from the airport. Do not know about French Connection. As said, best you contact them.

Thanks for the info. I will arrive in the late afternoon, so I might have to spend one night in Christchurch, because all the shuttle busses leave in the morning.

Yes, this is true. It is possible that Akaroa Shuttles would pick you up at your accommodation. If not, it is best to stay west of Hagley Park, in the suburb of Riccarton, or in one of the few motels right on Deans Ave along Hagley Park. Most such buses depart in this area.

Thanks for your reply. I found out that there is an option, to get from the airport to Akaroa. But it will cost 140 dollars. But getting to Christchurch, lodge there and get a bus the next day, will also cost. I rather spend that money and stay in a relaxing place, after the long flight.

You can also use the SuperShuttle for NZ$ 237 ;-))) Which other option did you find?

Ah, sure, we have quite a few such operators who also offer tours and not just transport from A to B, or, as in your case, from C to A.
