    • Car hire at the airport

      Palermo Yesterday

have read many horror stories online of car hire in Sicily and so wanted to choose more reputable brands such as Avis or Hertz. However we need a 6 seater and the only operators to offer those at Palermo Airport are Thrifty or Maggiore both of whom have some awful reviews - anyone out there recently hired with Thrifty or Maggiore at Palermo airport - what was your experience?
      Many thanks

      Baby friendly place to stay

      Sicilia Apr 24, 2013 at 3:42 AM

      Hi,

My husband and I are looking into travelling to Sicily (via Pozzallo) with our son around end May/early June. Can anyone suggest a good place to stay - both as a town/city and a hotel - that is baby friendly? Our son would be almost 11 months by then.

We have the option to come with our car so we can travel - although we don't want too much travelling as it will get hot and tiring for our son. We would be interested in a place where there is a sandy beach so he can play and perhaps a park close by or somewhere nice to go for strolls? It would be for about 3 nights.

Based on the weather in Malta we are assuming it will be nice enough to go on the beach there in month's time also! :)

Thanks in advance for your help!

A place to stay on the island

      Sicilia May 10, 2013 at 12:59 AM

      Hello everybody,
This September, my wife and I will spend a week in Sicily. We are looking for a place to stay for three (maybe four) days making excursions through the neighborhood, cooking our own food and enjoying the scenery.
It has to be in a rural area, but not too far from main attractions.
Any suggestions about the exact spot on the map?
      Thanks!

Hi there, Is there a way to get from Agrigento to Scala dei Turchi apart from driving there? I don't want to rent a car and was wondering if there's some kind of public transport that could drop you off quite close to Scala? Many thanks.

      help for accomodation

by a96m97 Online Now May 31, 2007 at 6:59 AM

From what I found on the Internet, I understand there is ANY kind and ANY price of accomodations around Agrigento ... actually so many that I can't choose one!! For those who have already been to or live in Agrigento: do you think it is better to stay in the centre of the city, closer to the Valley of Temples and the beaches (such as San Leone) or in a farm inland? Has anybody stayed at Ciuci's Manor near Aragona, north of Agrigento? Since we have a little girl, we may enjoy the animals, lake, swimming pool there. Thanks in advance and happy travelling to everybody!

    • the historical centre of Agrigento

by pippoalaimo Online Now Aug 30, 2005 at 9:18 AM

The importance of the historical centre of Agrigento can be pointed out when we have the blessed chance to visit it. The cathedral of San Gerlando, the patron of the city, the importance of the church od Santa Maria dei greci, Via Duomo, Via Atenea, Via Bac Bac, and small shops related to the old city of Girgenti so close to Luigi Pirandello, one of the most important dramatist of the last century. A magnificence of colors of sicilian life. galaimo@libero.it
