Hi All, My wife and I will be in traveling from Delhi to Agra for a one day exploration of Agra on May 7th. I recently found out that this is the polling day in Agra and I wanted to see how much of an effect you think this will have on the area? Any chance the Taj could be closed that day? That would be very sad as this is our only day in Agra. I am getting very worried as I have heard from others that it could be closed this day. Thanks so much for your help.
Taj Mahal is close on Friday only or some time close for few hours if any VIPes visit there Happy traveles.

Hi- although I doubt that the Taj will be closed to tourists on that day- bear in mind that because of the polling, Agra will be even more chaotic. The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays.

i got told the taj mahal is only open to muslims on a friday.how you prove you are a muslim is beyond me.if i am wrong please advise as other people would like to know.

Muslims pray in the mosque. It would be very easy to see who is actually PRAYING- (a Muslim) and who is just watching.That is the reason that Taj Mahal is closed to visitors on a Friday.It is not difficult to spot the difference.

Taj is not open to Muslims either on friday...Only the access to mosque inside the complex is permitted on friday... Less chances for Taj to be closed for the entire day during election... even if it has to be closed it will be till the afternoon i guess...not sure though please make a proper research before proceeding...
