I was thinking about working in a postal facility in Afghanistan and wanted to know the actual dangers that one may encounter in the country

Afghanistan is too complex a situation to describe on these travel forums. I would suggest you to look for forums which especially cater to traveling to/ living in troubled areas. Having said that, I can say - without actually visiting the country - that the life in Afghanistan may be a lot different than what is portrayed in the popular media.
