My husband and I (both Americans) are relocating to Dammam. I will be 6 months pregnant by the time I get there.. does anyone has advice on the birth experience in Dammam? What to expect? Which hospital is recommended? This is our first child, pretty nervous in general but especially having to go through it in a foreign country. Any info much appreciated.

Hello there hun! Congrats on the pregnancy! I'm also American living in Khobar (about a 15 min drive from Dammam)I just had my 3rd set of twins 4 months ago and I HIGHLY reccomend SAAD specialist hospital. The rooms are great, the staff is wonderful, The doctors excellent and I can even reccomend a couple if you like, Sattelite TV in the rooms, almost every american TV show out there! Now this hospital is considered one of the snazzier ones here, and a little more expensive when compared to other ones HERE, but nothing compared to the states. A normal pregnancy, one baby, depending on which doctor, is between 4000 to 6000 riyals, that includes all your appts, ultrasounds, and some blood work, and your hospital stay. If you have a Ceserean add another 4000 to that, and that also includes your hospital stay. Keep in mind anything unexpected will have to be payed for, like my boys were jaundiced so I had to pay extra for that treatment. Good luck hun!! And feel free to email me if you like, it always helps to know a friendly face on the other side!!! three_sets_of_twins@hotmail.com
