Activities for Teenagers?

by AbuDhabiMove Online Now Aug 24, 2006 at 8:04 AM

Hi to everyone!

We will move to Abu Dhabi as a family of 3, one is our 17 year old son. On our last visit he came along with us and we were quite surprised when we were refused to access a hotel bar because he is a minor under the age of 21 - even if we accompany him as his parents. Now we wonder if he will be able to go out with friends of his age when we live here. Will it be possible for him to go to a Disco or similar places?
Do you have any experience how people of his age find friends there? He will visit a quite small school so he might need to have other contact possibilities.
Thank you very much for your reply in advance!

no, the laws are strict for alcohol and being a muslim nation strict rules are followed. Hope that he can hang out with expat friends in the future. Dubai is just started to grow....If you look into the future, there will be sky scrappers everywhere and the desert will be transform quickly. Very fake, but the bubble will burst.

    cheers tommy x
