Hello
We need to get from Sulmona to Roccacaramanico for a day trip. I believe there is one bus a day (ARPA) that travels from Sulmona to Caramanica Terme and from there we would need to get a taxi. Timewise, this is not so great for us. Does anybody know of a private driver that could take me and my travel companion there and back for a set fee???
Thanks Lisa
We've just booked a holiday and are staying about 2 miles from Castelli. Are there any supermarkets/cafes/restaurants there? We would be grateful for any info on the area as we've never been before!
My grandfather was Berardo Contini, grandmother Donata Della Penna. They emigrated to Canada, via Ellis Island, New York in 1905 and 1908. Looking for relatives who still live in Fossacessia, as I plan to visit there in May, 2013.
We will be staying for 10 days and we are getting confused. We like to walk to restaurants and take private driver tours etc. We love the Hotel Guerra in Francavilla but don,t want to be too far from walking to dinner etc. Someone told us Francavilla before Ancona and now we are asking Pescara or Francavilla for toursim-Thank you
I would appreciate someone looking at my question on Francavilla al mare forum and giving me some insight or at least someone I can communicate with to ask more questions-Thanks-Gene
Hi My Mothers Family is from Abruzzo and still have cousins their I would like to find. I do not do well with a lot of crowds or hot weather and was wondering if you could help me with us. When could you suggest me going in 2013? Weather is good even a little cool is OK not cold or not too hot, lol Also best time to visit when their are not o many tourists. Gratis and Ciao
We ae in the planning stages about this city as we have chosen it over Pescara- I am looking for someone who is real familiar with Francavilla as we have sort of selected hotel Guerra and it looks real nice on line. Is this a hotel where we can walk into the town of Francavilla and also to restaurants etc. Also we will most likely be taking tours from there and will ask the hotel about day tours. Any suggestions would really be appreciated. We chose this hotel based on Trip Advisor reviews-- Thanks-Gene
Anyone on this site been toe francavilla- We might stay there and I was just looking for info on whether or not there is a small village with restuarants for night time and we are choosing the Hotel Guerra if anyone knows distance from there to town center. Tough getting info on this village and thanks-Gene
Does anybody know beaches around Pescara, IT, that have lower fees. In Montesilvano (close to Pescara) thay all seem to charge 15 euros a day for a couple, which is a lot, given my experience (in Chioggi they charge 7 or 5). Thanks for your support
We have asked questions and typically we get quick responses however on the Pescara forum no one seems to respond on Trip Advisor so am checking here is anyone knows if Pescara is basically a casual city which I would imagine it is being a big beach area. We spent two weeks in Sorrento and Taormina and both were very casual for day and evening and would like advice about Pescara as we really are interested in vacationing there next year-Thanks-Gene
Have been to Italy many many timesand am considering Pescara and we like places where we can walk to dinner etc and feel safe. In reading a post on a hotel on Trip Advisor someone comments about the number of drunks on the street and that is not a very clean city. Are these comments true as others have said they enjoyed it there. Whaere can I get a good overview of Pescara as a city or should we consider staying somewhere else nearby Your help is appreciated-Thanks-Gene
I have never been to Italy and am traveling there August 1 with a friend who lives in Pescara. I have no idea what to pack or what to expect. How do things differ from the midwestern US? Any info to help me fit in more would be greatly appreciated.
We will be arriving in Pescara by train and need to get from Pescara Centrale to the AutoEurope car rental pickup at the airport. How far is it, and is there public transport there? We don't mind walking if it is fairly close and a safe walk. Thank you for your help!
Unfortunately our own travel guides are very weak when it comes to small charming villages in the mountain part of Abruzzo. Either the pages are ages old and not much information or Sandysmith wrote them and I have read all of her Abruzzo pages already. I am looking for ideas for early June 2012, approx. 1 week. With car (so no, thanks, I don't need Trenitalia information :-) In one of the forums: VT Forum temporarily unavailable I have already posted several websites and information myself, together with others, but that was a general question about Abruzzo. My plan is to visit some of the hermitages/eremi, especially the ones near Civitella del Tronto (north of Teramo), and then some in between Pescara and Scanno, near Valle Orfento. East of village Popoli. Since this includes some hiking, I can't stay too far away. So I am looking for your suggestions of charming towns and charming accommodation. I don't like the luxury ones, which is not a question of money but a lack in "rural charm", as I would say :-) Thanks already in advance :-) Ingrid
Hi I am looking to holiday in pescara and have heard about the villa d'olive but I can't find any details on the Internet i was wondering if anyone knew of a phone number and maybe the owners name thank you .
My friend and I are coming to italy for 18 days. We are thinking about staying two nights in Pescara. We'd like to try and fine a day trip to the wine country. Can anyone recommend a tour company for a day trip only? (Lots of 7 day wine tours - we don't want that.) Any other areas in the Abruzzo area you can recommend would also be appreciated. We will be coming from Bologna the night before and will be on our way to Sorrento for a week. Two nights free between the two above cities and we were thinking of Pescara. Thoughts?
Is there a reliable car rental agency near or at the train station in Chieti? Thank you for your help!
hello we are staying in this lovely area for afew weeks...i was hoping someone would know of store that sells knitting wool??we are staying at villamaria hotel....also anywhere to dance for middleage couple?thanks for information
Hi. Actually that title is a bit misleading. My wife and I have been to Italy twice before (Rome and north) and this time we will definitely go to the Amalfi Coast (summer of 2012). Here's my problem: I love small towns and thought for months that we'd fly to Naples, stay in some Amalfi Coast town for 3 or 4 days, then head off to Abruzzo for a longer time, maybe week or so. But now I'm thinking that the guide books skip over Abruzzo for a reason and that maybe we should reverse the plan. That is, stay in Amalfi for a week and give Abruzzo the shorter time. Does anyone have comments on both plans? I would especially like to hear from people who've been to both areas. Grazie mille!
Hi everybody Hi I'm Shaun from Cape Town. I am interested to buy a house on the outskirts of Teramo, a place called Cermignano. I have been to Abruzzo, Pescara and the surrounding areas and just fell in love with the region, the people and the food. However I have not been to Teramo yet. Can anyone give me more of a description please of the area and lifestyle? Things of interest to do. My interests vary from a good party (social), dinners and lunches, water sports, swimming and nature, hiking, mountain biking, etc. Do you think it a good holiday destination, maybe a b&b or mini spa? Kind regards and thanks in advance. Shaun
Does anyone have any information about tours/day or overnight leaving Pescara to tour Abruzzo and/or Puglia. We will not have a car and want to explore the region.
We are trying to decide where to stay in Abruzzo for about one week. We will not have a car and would like to stay where we would have the best transportation options for visiting other towns and villages as we will not have a car. We love historic and picturesque towns or cites. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated as we are unfamiliar with the area but have heard wonderful things about it.
What is the best way to reach Castello Chiola Hotel from Pescara Centrale train station? I am going to Pescara in early October and will not have a car.I am trying to decide if I should stay in Pescara (Hotel Victoria) or Castello Chiola Hotel in Loreto Aprutino. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated very much... Thanks very much... Filippo
Hi everyone! My wife and I plus two good friends will be staying in Silvi Paese Oct 2-10, 2010. We'll definitely have a lot to do and see, but I want to ensure that we don;t miss anything special. Do you know of any special events, festivals, etc going on within a 2 hour drive of Pescara that week? Also, we are planning to drive to Silvi, likely from Geneva, and we'd like to make it a slow and fun drive, over a 2.5 day period. ANy suggestions on where we should stop enroute? - both for accommodation and for great things to see? Thanks all!
Will be staying in Penne for one night beginning of October and having a problem finding a place to stay. B&B or hotel, would like to stay in the city center if possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Maureen
Hi I am looking to relocate from the UK to live and work in Pescara. I have full Italian citizenship and would like any help/advice/information on long term properties to rent and also how to find work in that area. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Gloria
We are travelling to Pescara from Berlin in September and are wondering what would be the cheapest way to get there! Thanx in advance!
I need to gor from Rome to Civitella Alfedena. Could someone give me detailed instructions?
I am going to be in Positano and heading over to Pescara from there. I am guessing the best way is to get a ride to Naples and take a bus from there but I can't find any information online about how to do this? Anyone have suggestions? Thanks!
Is there any way to get to Bomba by train or bus? We will be arriving from the coast, en route from Venice. We will eventually need to get to Rome. Any suggestions or advice will be much appreciated.
