A week in Aberdeen

Hello, I'll be arriving in late Oct. for 5 days of training. The evenings will be mine and I'd like to sample the dining and nightlife. I'll be staying at the Holiday Inn. Does anyone have any suggestions for where I should dine and drink while I visit?
