Cabo San Lucas cabo san lucas whale watching
Posted: Fri August 15, 2008 02:16 PM UTC
I am going to have a free week stay at Villa del palmar in Cabo.

But I am doing some research and I WOULD love to go whale watching. It looks like some of the best whale watching is about 500 to 600 miles away.

I believe doing one of the 3 to 4 night stays at something like www.kuyima.com would actually be one of our highlights!!! If I had all the time and money I wanted I woudln't hesitate on doing something like this.

I am trying to decide the following:
1. Should we just stay in Cabo and try to see some whales closer
2. Go ahead and take a few days to go to one of the places far away
3. If we do decide to make this a priority - what company to use, where to go etc.

Does anyone have any suggestions!!!

Is it worth the trip?
I will be going from Dallas Ft worth -- where should I fly in if we decide to go on one of the whale trips that are far from Cabo. Should we fly in near cabo and then travel to one of the other places, or fly in somewhere near the whale watching stay a few days then fly down etc.

Which tour company/suggestions on whale watching experiences.

If these are too many questions in one post..I can break them up.

THANKS!!

Cabo San Lucas all of the choices
Posted: Sun August 3, 2008 08:19 PM UTC
I booked a trip to Cabo in Sept. I have been reading a ton of info on line. Yikes...it can be overwhelming. I guess what I am wondering is..what restaurants can be recommended and which ones should be avoided? Also thinking of doing a snorkeling trip. Is anyone familiar with Pez Gato? Is Santa Maria the best place to go for snorkeling?

thanks again VTers

Cabo San Lucas August Need Information Please!
Posted: Tue July 22, 2008 06:36 PM UTC
Ok, I have a bunch of questions. Do you think we would be happy going to Cabo in Mid August? We really want to go (IN AUGUST!) , but dont want to be miserably hot. We do live in Phoenix so we're used to the heat somewhat. Does it rain in August? What are the chances of having a rained out vacation? Are there enough people there in August to have fun at the clubs....or is it dead? Is the office restaraunt open in Ausgust? Really want to go, just want to make sure we will get all the benefits in August!!!!

Cabo San Lucas need help with a decision
Posted: Mon July 7, 2008 10:20 PM UTC
I have been investigating all inclusive resorts and have it narrowed down to two. Dreams Los Cabos and RIU Palace. Can anyone give any suggestions? Also, we are looking for that beautiful beach with shallow crystal clear quiet water. Do these resorts have that type of beach? But if not, can we find one close by and how easy is it to get to it?

Does anyone know of another all inclusive that they could suggest?

One last question, has anyone booked with orbitz for a trip?...if so....how did it go?

Cabo San Lucas To Cabo or not to Cabo
Posted: Thu July 3, 2008 04:35 AM UTC
Hi there

We are a group of 6 in our 30's who are taking our annual vacation in Febuary. We have not booked yet, but have heard that Cabo is great.

We all like to enjoy a few drinks and good meals (but not party like girls gone wild!) and loooove the water. We have recently enjoyed holidays to Hawaii and Cancun - will this compare?

Is the weather okay in Feb? Any hotels close to the action that you suggest? A friend of ours has stayed at Villa Del Arco and said they liked it but would like any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Cabo San Lucas Airport Transfers with Strike Going On
Posted: Fri June 13, 2008 06:55 PM UTC
Hi Everyone - I have 2 18 year olds leaving on the 17th to Cabo for their graduation trip. Now I'm hearing their round trip transfers are only good going to the hotel since there is a big transportation strike going on and no-one is allowed to do returns except taxis. Does anyone know how long this could go on for or approximately how much a taxi is to the airport from Riu Santa Fe?

Thanks!

Cabo San Lucas Driving Caravan
Posted: Thu April 17, 2008 04:32 PM UTC
We have driven to Cabo San Lucas 3 times last year. No problem but I have been hearing about the latest warnings. About the drug cartel killing the local police officers and famalies having no police in Tijuana, Ensenda. The kidnappings of tourist for ransom knowing that they can get at least $300. a day from the Atms. I want to know if anybody has heard of anything different from this information. And if anybody is driving down or up and the time frame they are leaving so maybeeeeeeeee we can travel down together(seperate cars of course). I guess I am sounding a little wierd about asking for this kind of info.

Cabo San Lucas Street Surfaces
Posted: Thu February 28, 2008 05:34 PM UTC
I am going to Cabo next week. I have tried to determine (never having been there) if the streets are smooth enought to skateboard/razor scooter/inline skate on. Nobody seems to know...even those who have been there.

I'm just worried that I will drag or pay to take longboard equipment, etc. down there and then not be able to use it. Does anybody out there know if there are bikepaths or even skateable smooth asphalt streets in and around Cabo. Even/especially the local streets that run throught town.

ANY information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Cabo San Lucas Rehearsal Dinner
Posted: Wed February 20, 2008 11:27 PM UTC
Hi all,
Does anyone know of a good place which can hold a group of 40 for a rehearsal dinner? I am not looking to break the bank with this dinner, that is saved for the reception. But any thing reasonably priced would be great.

Thanks

PS Does any know if Tabasco's beach club is still open?

Cabo San Lucas Fishing charter
Posted: Wed February 6, 2008 04:37 PM UTC
Hi all,
We are a family of four, two kids 13, Mom and Dad, and will be visiting Cabo mid April. Has anyone fished at this time? What would be the expected catch? Can you recommend anyone? The most important thing here is the kids have fun. A trophy would be cool but it's the kids I'd really like to see catch fish.

Cabo San Lucas Destination for Christmas and New Years 2008
Posted: Fri January 11, 2008 12:51 AM UTC
I have not bothered to read other postings, so I apologize if this scenario/question has been asked! For the Holiday season in 2008, my Aunt and Uncle, mother, myself and husband are looking for the ideal resort in Cabo. Yes, I am planning ahead, but I like to be prepared! My problem is "suiting" everyone in the vacation party. My Aunt and Uncle are wanting high end, my mother is happy with whatever (which also means high end), my husband and I also want a nice place (we travel frequently), but not HIGH (meaning price) end. My Aunt and Uncle originally wanted to Caneel Bay in St. Johns, where travelers have to change in chinos and Polo shirts after 5:00pm. Not our idea of a great vacation. We prefer flip flops and T-shirts. So... My husband and I have always wanted to visit Cabo, so thought we had more choices to choose from to suit everyone. So with all of this said, can anyone recommend a resort to satisify everyone including the picky traveler? A resort that is classy, yet causual; a resort that has a varity of room options to suit everyone and budget; a resort that is beachfront; a resort that has great food; a resort that has a great pool area with swim-up bar; etc....HELP!!!!!!!!

Cabo San Lucas heading to Cabo this weekend

6 adults are heading down to Cabo this weekend for 5 nights. Any suggestions on "Must-do's". We are staying in the Pedegral area. Anyone stay in this gated community before? Is it nice?
How safe are tourists in Cabo? Any major concerns should we be aware of?
Any pointers and tips would be greatly appreciated.

Cabo San Lucas Cabos vs. Puerto Vallarta
Posted: Mon January 7, 2008 06:23 AM UTC
Dear Cabo experts,

I'm desperately looking for a travel destination for a sisterly bonding week. As we are both into the beach and partying I thought either Cabo or PV would be a good choice. We are both about 30 years old and would prefer to stay clear of the gaggles of kids, college students etc. Essentially we would like to find an environment with people at least 25+. Would you happen to know which city may cater towards what we're looking for? There isn't that much information regarding this on the web. Thanks in advance,

A
